The SDGs are a global agenda adopted by all UN member states in 2015. They form part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The SDGs consist of 17 goals and 169 targets aiming to:
- end poverty and hunger
- protect the planet
- ensure peace, prosperity and justice for all
They are universal (apply to all countries), integrated (address all aspects of sustainability) and transformative (aim for systemic change).
