SUBJECTIVE ASSESSMENT:
-sudden onset of back pain
-MOI Type I: terminal swing, sprinting, biceps femoris, eccentric contraction
-MOI Type II: end of range, over-stretched, semimembranosus, longer to heal
-risk factor: short muscle fibre fascicles, decreased strength, previous hamstring injury
TESTS:
-palpation
-SLR
-isometric knee flexion
-single leg bridge, bridge, modified single leg bridge
-Slump test
-90/90
PROGNOSIS:
-pain with normal walking=> likely to have more than 3 weeks of rehab
-pain free jogging within 1-2 days => < 2 weeks for return to sport
-pain free jogging within 3-5 days => > 2 weeks for return to sport
-Pain free jogging > 5 days => >4 weeks until return to sport
